How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute
iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit! Psalm 32:1,2.
David has captured a glimpse of the man in Christ. How can
we ever offer enough thanks and praise to God for covering our sins? We really
have no full comprehension of the magnitude of this deed performed by His Son at
the cross. Many of us, from time to time, think that surely God will hold this
or that sin against us. But that really is a form of idolatry when we think
that way. Are we saying that God will make some exception just for us? May it
never be!
All of this makes me want to sin less, not more. The bond
between God and man is always strengthened when we realize the love He has for
us. That love extends beyond limit to His regarding us as justified
(just-if-I’d never sinned. He gives us a new heart, chosen to be the sanctuary
for the Holy Spirit living within us.
I have a burden to share all of this with someone who does
not know Him. Why is it that the world thinks that God is so terrifying and
hard-hearted that He cannot be approached? Let us seek opportunities today to
share this Good News with someone. It may just be a casual conversation that
hints of God’s love. It may just be a shoulder for someone to cry upon, all the
while presenting yourself as available for comfort. The world needs to wonder
where these acts of compassion come from, and you can tell them.
Thank You Father for the way You look upon us. Thank You
that we can approach You into the very Holy Place. We are family! I look
forward to how You will use me today. Amen.
