November 26
O Lord, Thou hast searched me and known me. Thou dost know when I sit down
and when I rise up; thou dost understand my thought from afar. Thou dost
scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art intimately acquainted with all my
ways. Psalm 139:1-3.
Why is it that we sometimes think God is not looking our way? Do we actually
think that He is preoccupied with other matters? It is both comforting and
somewhat threatening as well to realize that God knows my every thought and my
every step of each day.
When we seek time to be alone from the busy world, He is there. When we are busy
in the world, He is there. His grace and Spirit are always present and available
to guide me.
I am gradually learning that my first thought in everything should be to seek
Him. To know Him is to realize that He is a continual partner in my every move.
I often wonder if He is content with my actions during the day. I know that I
waste time and energy. I often fail to consider His ways as I make decisions. I
go ahead with my plans without always taking Him into account. Why would He not
give up on me!
Oh Lord, let me realize Your great love for me. You are faithful to be at my
side, no matter what I may do. I need to realize that more fully and I need to
give thanks for that continually. Let Your Spirit produce in me a joyful song
and a new willingness to see You in all that I do. Thank You in the name of
Jesus. Amen.
