November 19

If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set you mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.  Colossians 3:1-4.

We have this glorious position with Christ—seated at the right hand of God.  Out of that position flows all that we need here on this earth.  There are many who would say, “Don’t be so heavenly minded that you are earthly no good.”  But they have it backwards.  Jesus was the most heavenly minded of anyone who walked this earth, and look at what He accomplished.

Many of us have lost sight of the goal of the Gospel.  It is to make believers into a new creation that contains the very life of Christ.  We are to look to Him for all the power, love, and motivation to conduct our lives.  Out of that adoration of Him will flow the necessary gifts to reach those around us.  We need to spend more time and devotion in just loving and listening to Christ.  The works that He desires will then flow from that relationship.

Father, let me spend today not following the traditions of man, but instead let me set my mind on things above—things that pertain to You.  I will be surprised one day to see that I am with You in glory.  All that You are will be available to me.  In fact, it is already available if I would just believe and walk in faith.  Thank You for my position in Jesus Christ.  Amen.
