Music
Touches the Servant and the Master of our Soul.
Music has always ministered to my soul. It seems to touch the Master. It
confirms the things not seen. Music restores the things destroyed by the locusts
of our life. Music touches the very heart of God and opens a floodgate of
beautiful communication. It is an expression of the deepest sorrow and highest
joy--it builds a bridge between the two.
Deaf ears sing Your praise, Oh God, and blind eyes write the notes for songs of
love and adoration to You (Psalm 40:3). You, Oh God, have put the song in our
hearts and Your words in our mouth to sing our praise to You. We will sing to
You, Oh Lord. We will make music in our sanctuary for the kings and rulers to
hear and to know that You are the God of Israel (Judges 5:3).
We pray for our choir and our musicians, and for those that are in charge of the
music in the house of the Lord (1 Chronicles 6:31,32). May they minister and
carry out their duties as acts of worship, exalting the joy of the Lord so that
our hearts will awaken to the steadfast faithfulness of Your glory over all the
earth (Psalm 27:6). We pray that our Psalms, our hymns, and our music will speak
as one body in reverent praise to You, and we always give thanks to God for
everything in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
