Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I
am also the last. Surely My hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out
the heavens; when I call to them, they stand together. Isaiah 48:12,13.
Our very existence is dependent upon God. The earth and the heavens owe their
beginning and their destiny to God. We are so prone to forget this, and that
forgetfulness clouds the way we look at life. Well-meaning Christians have told
me that I tend to place too much emphasis upon how God has created things, as
they say I should be content to just see the “scientific” explanation for the
earth around us. What could be further from the truth? In the verses quoted
above, which I regard as absolute truth, we see that God has formed the earth
and spread out the heavens before us. Everything is an expression of Him.
We know that God, expressed as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are one. They
deserve first and last place in all that we can behold. Our faith claims that
God is our life and our destiny.
Today, Lord Jesus, let me walk in new appreciation for all that Your hand has
made. We are surrounded by expressions of Your personality, Your mind, and Your
life. You continually call to all that You have created, and I include myself in
that call. Thank You and Amen.
