May 16
Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us
with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose
us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through
Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will (Ephesians
1:3-5).
I often forget how I have been blessed. The distractions of the world sometimes
cause me to focus on the wrong things. Yet, in the mind of God we were chosen
and blessed even before the world began. He can see it all—past, present and
future—as if they are one. We find these blessings in Him, in Christ. He sees us
clothed with Christ, which act on His part causes us to be blameless before Him.
Oh I know that my sinful actions are not blameless, but I choose to believe that
Christ has paid the full price for them by His sacrifice. I am a son by
adoption, with all of the blessings that are Christ’s. His forgiveness makes me
love Him all the more.
Today, Lord Jesus, may I have new revelations of the many blessings You have
already bestowed. I need to seek nothing more than Your will, Your love, and
Your grace. I will listen to Your voice as we walk together. Your presence with
me and in me is the ultimate blessing. Amen.
