March 17
Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; let the Lord be glad in His works;
He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they
smoke. I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God
while I have my being. Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; as for me, I shall
be glad in the Lord. Psalms 104:31-34.
It goes without saying, that the Lord is glad about what He has created. Yes, it
is damaged by man’s fall, but when we turn back to Him there is unlimited
opportunity on His part to offer us His grace. I have no doubt that the earth
can tremble under the gaze of God. He created it, and He can control it.
Is your heart a source of song to the Lord? Some of my most cherished moments
occur when I can “let loose” with bursts of song to Him. Oh, I know that I
really can’t sing like some others I know, but God doesn’t care. He is looking
at my heart and not grading the quality of my voice. I am learning to meditate
upon Him too—it seems there is plenty to think about as I wonder what He is
about each day. Am I hearing Him? Am I willing to obey?
Father, let me be a voice in Your creation that continually speaks with
gladness. There should be no room in my conversation for anything negative
concerning my brothers or sisters in Christ. They are serving You in response to
what they have been shown. I can do no better. Let songs of praise spring from
my heart. Together we can change the world. I trust You as creator to prepare my
way. Amen.
