July 15 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3. This verse shows us the mindset that we need as we follow the word of God. There is no better beginning than to accept His acts of creation by faith. We are presented the alternative of evolution at every turn, but to follow that erroneous path is to reject all that God has to offer. We cannot have it both ways—either God is our creator or we are merely victims of chance. Our trust in God and His word begins in Genesis. We are not to choose which portions of the Bible are believable, and which portions fit our limited, fleshly instincts. Remember that the word of God is proved to us every day in the things that are seen. His attributes show forth in abundance. In contrast the pillars of evolution crumble before us, because none of them can be proved by the scientific method. There is no evidence that shows that life can spring forth by chance from non-life. Father, let me rest in the solid faith of Your creative being. You alone are the designer, the creator, the power, and the life that lets me exist. Thank You over and over for setting aside this wonderful earth upon which we live. We count on You to reveal Yourself to us more and more each day. Amen. |
