January 29
He was in the beginning with God. All things came
into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into
being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:2-4.
John is revealing that the Word, Jesus Christ, existed in
eternity past, before any worlds or universe were created. And all things were
brought into existence by Jesus. This demands our respect and awe, for the mind
of man has failed in its attempt to replace creation by evolution. We have a
personal beginning in the nature of God, and He is bent upon molding us into His
image. We cannot conceive of a more important or purposeful beginning.
His life, shared with us, becomes a beacon or light unto
the world. Man has often hidden himself from this life, as evidenced in our
futile attempts to replace God with gods of our own making—such as science,
intellect, or philosophy. Once we begin to grasp the link to the very creator
of all things, we will find ourselves reaching out to others in a new way. We
will be longing to share this good news about life. We will let His light shine
from us.
In the mind of God He knew that man would fall into sin.
How much more magnificent then is His reaching out to us with the light. Jesus
becomes our new life when we accept Him by faith into our old, broken life. We
become an inseparable part of Him, even into eternity.
My friends, share the good news of Christ as you walk this
earth. Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us this life to share, for without
You we have no purpose of future. All praise goes to You. Amen.
