January 24 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into and is safe. Proverbs 18:10. We do not fully grasp the power of a name. We are to be people of integrity who stand up for our name. Our whole testimony is influenced by how others perceive our name. And it is even more true of the Lord. He has a name above all others—the great “I am.” He will do wonders for His great name. He is like a strong tower. Towers stand out among smaller structures—they beckon us to safety in the midst of a treacherous world. There are provisions for life, love and relationship with the tower master. The tower is made for the righteous—those whom the Lord looks upon and sees the righteousness of Christ. We are to run to this tower. No reason for delay or hesitation. Under the wings of our Lord we can find all that we need, and we can find guidance for all that we would undertake in His name. Today, Lord God, let me see You in the midst of all of my ventures. Let You stand out like a tower—clearly seen above all other distractions. Help me show others the way to Your tower. There is always room for one more. Thank You and Amen. |
