Friends
I gained a newfound friend one day
Worried and lost, she looked my way.
A casual smile from me to her
Was what she needed to reassure.
A brief discussion as to destination
Continued on as we left the station.
Soon we learned that our paths were leading
Down the street to the very same meeting.
A chance encounter perhaps you could say
But a life-long friend was made that day.
The same can be said as we journey through life
Looking for comfort to ease all our strife.
Christ is a friend just waiting to share
Our worries and burdens too heavy to bear.
Shielding us daily with his loving protection
Waiting to walk in the same direction.
