February 29
Be glad in that day, and leap for joy, for behold,
your reward is great in heaven; for in the same way their fathers used to treat
the prophets. Luke 6:23.
Yes, on this LEAP day we can leap with joy—as we should on
any day. Luke is revealing the beatitudes as he recalls them. He has addressed
the poor, the hungry, and the victims of hatred. Now he tells us that we can
celebrate with Jesus whom they also insulted. The prophets were also treated in
the same way.
It is sad that much of the world will not understand, or
they will refuse to understand, the love of God. We cannot comprehend it all,
but we will spend eternity being shown the unlimited grace and love that can
only come from Creator God. We are to have this assurance of love poured out
for us, and there is no fear in that love. We need not think of condemnation or
punishment from God when we have secured our position in Christ by believing
upon His name.
So let us leap with gladness, knowing that Jesus must be
leaping with us! We are together in this walk through life, and it will extend
into infinity of tomorrows.
Thank You Father for the gift of life. We pray in the
precious name of Jesus. Amen.
