December 2
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know
what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His
inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:18.
There are so many verses in the Bible that clearly show that our heart is more
than just a pump. The eyes of our heart are to be enlightened. We often
say that we feel certain things in our heart. We trust in our heart
to tell us what is right. Yes, there is much to be learned about this vital
portion of our soul and body.
When our heart is made pure by the workings of the Holy Spirit—when we accept
Jesus as our Savior—there is a renewed awareness of how God is working in our
lives. We see how He is shaping us to be more like Christ. We see
His purposes in all that comes our way—in difficulties as well as in blessings.
We begin to sense that our inheritance is everything that is also Christ’s.
Nothing is omitted—we are fully sons and daughters of God.
Today, Lord Jesus, let my heart be opened to Your blessings. Let me see You at
work all around me and within me. I will focus on the hope that is in You, for
there is no other. I may not understand all that You are doing, but I have this
confidence that my spirit is being renewed and taught many awesome things about
You. This day will be exciting because You are with me. I know You are treating
me as Your precious child. In Your name, Amen.
