December 19
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the
man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16,17
We do always appreciated
what we have in God’s written word. Everything we need is either described or
the path of knowing it is explained. All wisdom lies in the word of God. The
word is designed to teach us, to correct us and to train us in the path of
righteousness. I sincerely wish that we would spend more time reading God’s
word instead of reading man’s comments upon the Bible or man’s interpretation of
the path of progress. We try to play God in many areas, and I am afraid we
sometimes have turned away from the blessings of Scripture.
God’s word needs to be
read and followed if we are to be adequate for every task. Only by the
infilling of His word into our spirit can we be transformed into creatures of
good works. Certainly every topic is not mentioned within the Bible, but the
important point is that we are equipped by God to interpret, through the mind of
Christ, every situation and problem that we encounter. Our adequacy is linked
to the adequacy of Christ.
Today, Father, let me
walk in the confidence that I am supplied by the word of God for every good
work. I do not need the plans of others or the goals of self-seeking persons
who would rob me of this walk with You. Let me follow only You. Thank You and
Amen.
