Choices
Do we seek to be wise for the good of mankind?
Or like Adam and Eve, for power and greed?
Cain brought his offering from his labor in the field,
while Abel brought the best of his flock and yield.
God was pleased with Abel, and Cain was rejected—
a feeling we experience when our hearts are not connected.
to the absolute truth that the Lord wants our best.
Am I sure that I can pass that test?
Cain was offered another chance. “Don’t let sin rule your anger,”
the Lord master said.
But Cain hated Abel and killed him instead.
Do your children have jealousy and does hatred reign?
Are their values established by money and gain?
Oh, the pain of our sin. Oh, the destruction of our choosing.
Praise be to Jesus, His forgiveness brings rejoicing.
