April 30

And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14.

Tomorrow in our National Day of prayer.  I pray that we can assemble together—in churches, in auditoriums, in homes or wherever 2 or more are gathered in order to make our requests known to each other and to God.  Please make every effort to plan for this most important day.

As we well know, our nation is experiencing severe problems in the areas of finances, military involvements, and the ever-present need for a deeper spiritual awareness.  God has spared Israel repeatedly when He saw their repentance, and He can do the same for us.

It is so meaningful and productive to pray together.  We learn from each other, and there is something humbling about allowing others to hear us reveal our weaknesses and needs.  We can pray for our nation, our civic government, our police officers, the firemen, the students and all the service workers that attend to us.  Include our president, congress and judges.  Above all pray that we may honor God and allow Him first place in our lives.  Pray that we may all repent of sin and all the ways that we try to exclude Him from our daily endeavors.  He awaits our cries with patience, all the while looking for opportunities to reveal Himself to us.

Thank You Father for the graceful way You watch us.  Do not let us stray far from You.  We want You to hear our cries and to forgive our many trespasses.  Our land needs healing, and You are the only one who can do it.  We give praise to You and Your Son, Jesus.  Amen.
