April 26

Then Job answered the Lord, and said, “I know that Thou canst do all things, and that no purpose of Thine can be thwarted. Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?” “Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” ‘Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask Thee, and do Thou instruct me.’ Job 42:1-4.

In this modern world of ours we are presented on all sides with misinformation regarding God. Even if the world acknowledges that He exists, they consider Him powerless. Science is deemed to be the origin of truth, when in fact it is meant only to be an interpretation, right or wrong, about what is observed. Evolution theory cannot explain how life was created out of nothing. The ultra-sensitive balance of our natural world can not be an expression of random chance.

Can we become like Job, learning to let God be God and realizing that we just can not understand all things? God is about His purposes, regardless of the intellect of man. I am so thankful that each of us has not been forced to go through the trials of Job, but if we were to experience that we would be far better off.

Today, Lord, I ask for Your instruction. You alone have the understanding of Your creative powers. Only You can guide me through this day in a manner that will be pleasing to You. I count on that knowing that You are faithful. Amen.
