| Concerns in the News. The Da Vinci
Code. Never before has a work of fiction captivated
Christians as well as non-Christians. To learn of the many
lies and fabrications within this book, read Josh McDowell's new
book "The Da Vinci Code, The Search for answers. The
Bible is our one true, irrefutable Word of God.
The Debate
over Evolution and Creation. Articles are appearing
that show teachers of evolution need more education and research
of their own. I agree. As a creationist and physicist I find it
easy to identify with the students who question evolution.
Perhaps teachers will discover the myriad of assumptions that
are made when ages in millions or billions of years are quoted
from radioactive dating experiments, usually without an
explanation of the method or the assumptions. (This is an
“apparent age” of the rock in which the fossil is found, not an
actual age that can be verified by the scientific method. See
Gunter Faure, Principles of Isotope Geology, John Wiley & Sons,
New York, (1977), p. 48.)
Students know that they have the teacher “over a barrel” because
the scientific method can not be strictly followed. Neither the
teacher nor the researcher was present when the fossil was laid
down. The history of the fossil over millions of years can not
be verified or calculated with absolute certainty. Faith in
evolution is required, and that becomes more of a worldview
issue. Objectivity indicates an attempt to observe things as
they are, without bending observations to agree with some
preconceived worldview, held by evolutionists and geologists, of
a very old earth and universe. I have a young worldview, but I
also know that faith is involved in this belief—I cannot twist
the radioactive dating methods to support my view. The
difference in view is one of where one’s faith is placed. I am
secure in my faith. The Bible completely supports my scientific
view.
So let’s have more research by the teachers. They are in for a
shock!
Israel, God's
Time Clock. With all of the wars and rumors of wars in the
Middle East, we always need to watch Israel. God will
protect His land. I encourage all readers to turn to
Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39. Read the prophecy concerning Gog in the land of Magog (Russia) and how he and his allies will
be brought against Israel. The consequences will be
severe. Are we living in the end times? Yes, the
signs are there. Please read these chapters, my friends,
and see how God is at work among us.

Where is our
security? With all of the attention being given to
national security, the Psalms speak out to us very clearly:
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
(Psalm 118:8).

How does God view the continuing attempts to cause Israel to give up her
land? I can only think of the passage in Joel, chapter 3.
For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of
Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the
valley of Jehoshaphat (YAHWEH). Then I will enter into judgment with them there
on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered
among the nations; and they have divided up My land.

How long will God permit the foolish debate about life in the womb?
In Jeremiah 1:5a God says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew
you, and before you were born I consecrated you."
Can we ever fathom how we are attempting to interfere with the purposes of God?

Persecutions of Christians. In our sheltered land we are
so often unaware of the worldwide persecution of Christians. The
managed news does not tell us of the burnings, the rapes, the
beheadings; it never even mentions the restricted living
conditions or the bias in employment that is directed at
Christians. Friends, we need to be aware that the conditions in
our land are not representative of those that the vast majority
of our brothers and sisters experience. As Paul says, “Brethren,
pray for us.” (1 Thessalonians 5:25)
